In order to promote sustainable development, Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) responds to the international and governmental 2050 net-zero transformation goals, prudently acts on the physical and transformational risks of climate change, refines sustainable financial products, responsible investment and financing practices, low-carbon operations, and sustainable supply chain management, and excels in the areas of energy conservation, gender equality in the workplace, and green supply chain, and has been honored to receive a National Sustainable Development Award by the National Council for Sustainable Development of the Executive Yuan, Taiwan (hereinafter referred to as the Sustainability Council).

Since 2004, the Sustainability Council has been organizing the National Sustainable Development Awards to recognize schools, enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and government agencies with outstanding sustainability performance, which has entered its 20th year. In the field of sustainability, the award is the highest national honor for companies. Yuanta FHC supports the government’s four major transformation strategies of Energy Transformation, Industry Transformation, Lifestyle Transformation, and Social Transformation, and has achieved outstanding results by deeply cultivating sustainability. Yuanta FHC was thus selected from 162 entries to win the Enterprise - Non-Manufacturing category.

Yuanta FHC has implemented the concept of net-zero transformation in daily operation and business decisions, such as launching the “Sustainable Development Strategy Roadmap,” which is in line with the United Nations’ sustainable development goals, and setting 52 short-, medium-, and long-term goals for a period of five years. Yuanta FHC has introduced various sustainability standards and ISO management systems, leading the industry in importing an internal carbon pricing mechanism and IFRS S1, and forging ahead in joining international sustainability initiatives such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and the Partnership for Biodiversity Accounting Financials (PBAF). This year, Yuanta FHC has been named to the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Emerging Markets Indices (DJSI) for the sixth consecutive year, has been recognized as the world’s number one (No. 1) in the DJSI Group of Diversified Financial Services and Capital Markets for three times in a row, and has made the CDP’s A List for the fourth year straight and has been ranked at the Leadership Level for the sixth time, making Yuanta FHC one of the benchmark companies of the financial industry in Taiwan.

As a member of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance, Yuanta FHC has committed to take positive actions on five major issues, including green procurement, to bring the influence of the big to the small, and to build a stakeholder partnership, such as participating in the 2024 Net Zero City Expo, and furthering the green transformation of the supply chain. Yuanta FHC also serves as the convener of the Empowerment and Certification Working Group of the Net-Zero Promotion Working Platform, which acts as a bridge between the government and the industry to assist the financial industry in establishing a sustainable talent cultivation mechanism and talent pool, and to garner social consensus and leverage financial influence to jointly advance the sustainable development of the country, enterprises, and individuals.
