The live and televised events attracted more than 150,000 listeners. In May 2023, we and the National Taiwan Library organized the “Discovery and Inspiration: Journey of Ancient Books” event, which allowed the public to learn about the process of restoring ancient books and to view the authentic 500-year-old Quran sutra. Yuanta Securities and Yuanta Funds once again sponsored the 2024 Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert with NT$5 million in 2024, and held the New Year’s music extravaganza satellite live broadcasting at the outdoor theater of Weiwuying on January 1, which was simultaneously broadcasted live in 90 countries, so that audiences around the globe and at Weiwuying could welcome a brand-new year together with the sound of melodious music.
In response to the government's policy of promoting the development of cultural and creative industries, the Company actively participates in cultural and creative investments, and hopes to promote the development of cultural and creative industries by investing in cultural and creative industries, and fulfill corporate social responsibility. Yuanta Venture Capital Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company, has invested in Great Dream Pictures, Inc. since 2016, with an investment amount of NT$20 million. Great Dream Pictures’ 2018 release of The Scoundrels movie-action film won Best Cinematography and Best Action Choreography at the 56th Golden Horse Awards. In the same year, Great Dream Pictures was awarded the Forward-Looking Infrastructure Development Program - New Media Cross-Platform Innovative Audio-Visual Programming Grant by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture for the filming of Zihuatanejo, which was released in 2020. Great Dream Pictures has also joined hands with the Big Data Technology Center of Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) in 2021 to develop a “Digital Cloud Management Platform for Film and TV Production,” which automatically recognizes script information through AI, and is expected to help the film and TV industry to be more efficient in the production workflow and to improve management performance in the future. Furthermore, Great Dream Pictures has invested NT$8.5 million in a Taiwanese drama Happy Music Stir-Fried Life which was licensed to KKTV in 2023. The show is a musical theater program. In addition to enjoying the singers’ wonderful singing voices, there are also singers’ wonderful performances of short skits. A new healing program has been created in the midst of a new life of boredom and epidemic prevention.
Caring for Dementia Patients
Yuanta Funds and Yuanta Futures have always been concerned about dementia in middle-aged and senior citizens, and have launched a series of events to care for the elderly. In 2022, we partnered with the Social Welfare Foundation of Wisdom, and volunteers from Yuanta learned to interact with elders with declining cognitive functions at the Church of Revival. Guided by professionals, our volunteers accompanied the elderly suffering from dementia through physical and mental exercises. In addition, we donated 110 sets of Yuanta care packages to the Social Welfare Foundation of Wisdom. The packages contained objects that could delay the deterioration of cognitive functions, including board games, paint by number sets, and hand grips. We hope that they could warm the hearts of the elderly patients this winter.
Community Caring
Upholding the Group's belief of “the power of change begins from caring”, Yuanta Bank is committed to practicing the spirit of serving neighborhoods and customers as a financial institution. By using our operating sites as the core in our community outreach, we fostered interactions and deepened our ties within the communities. Our employees actively participated in neighborhood social welfare events, including community clean-ups and earthquake prevention drills at kindergartens. We also actively promoted anti-fraud awareness to safeguard the assets and properties of our neighborhoods and customers. A total of 10 community outreach activities were held in 2022, benefiting nearly 3,000 persons and demonstrating our determination to promote co-prosperity in the neighborhoods.
