Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has responded to the world’s largest environmental protection and energy conservation campaign “Earth Hour” for five consecutive years. Yuanta FHC will turn off the exterior wall lights at Yuanta Financial Plaza for one hour from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on March 22. Overseas offices including South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, as well as nearly 90 suppliers will join the initiative. We also organizes physical flash mobs to expand our sustainability impact with our employees, supply chain, and the public. “Earth Hour” is a global voluntary public welfare campaign started by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature in 2007 to reduce carbon emissions by turning off the lights for one hour at 8:30 p.m. on the last Saturday of March every year (this year, it has been brought forward to March 22 due to Ramadan). Last year (2024), all sectors in Taiwan responded to the one hour light switch-off. A total of 289,000 kWh of electricity was saved, which is equivalent to a reduction of about 143 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions. Answering the international trend of carbon reduction, Yuanta FHC actively supports the use of renewable energy and used a total of 5.28 million kWh of green electricity in 2024, which is comparable to a carbon reduction of approximately 2,608 metric tons. In order to echo the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, and to continue to move towards sustainability and the pursuit of communal harmony, Yuanta FHC invited nearly 90 suppliers to take part in the advocacy this year, and jointly responded to the filming of the off-light video. For the first time, we organized a flash check-in at Yuanta Financial Plaza, the Group’s iconic green building, to call on our colleagues and the public to join the initiative. We reward people with Green Points, which can be exchanged or discounted for certified products such as those with the Eco Label, in the hope of leading people to implement sustainable actions in their lives. As a mover and shaker on sustainable finance, Yuanta FHC is the first to take the initiative to build an Environmental Sustainability Indicator Management System to promote internal carbon reduction strategies through informative and scientific management, and to keep track of the carbon emission situation of the 327 offices in Taiwan. Yuanta FHC’s business strategy is aligned with international trends, and we have made the A List on the CDP’s climate disclosure, and has been ranked at the Leadership Level for seven consecutive years. Furthermore, Yuanta FHC has been listed as a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index for six years in row, and has become a force leading social and environmental change with steady and solid performance.

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) organizes the Sustainable Finance Evaluation to encourage excellent financial players to perform their role as benchmarks. The Yuanta Group is in line with international standards for sustainable impact on the financial industry in terms of comprehensive sustainability indicators, environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG). Subsidiaries such as Yuanta Securities, Yuanta Bank, and Yuanta Funds are committed to providing green financial products and services, and have been recognized in the top segment (top 25%) of their respective industries among 23 securities firms, 34 banks, five funds companies and other evaluated financial institutions. Yuanta Securities launched “Mr. Investor APP,” the first zero-carbon APP in Taiwan’s securities industry that has passed international carbon neutrality verification, and “Yuanta Securities Online Investment and Financial Management Service,” which is the first product that has passed international product carbon footprint verification and obtained the carbon label from the Ministry of the Environment. Yuanta Securities also assisted the Ministry of the Environment in formulating the Product Category Rules (PCR) for “Online Services for the Securities, Futures, Funds, and Investment Consulting Industries,” and issued a number of ETNs and green energy-linked warrants that are corresponding to the spirit of ESG. Furthermore, Yuanta Securities is the organizer of sustainability bonds, and serves as the lead underwriter of the first sustainability-linked bond (SLB) in Taiwan, joining hands with stakeholders to create long-term value. Yuanta Bank introduces an internal carbon pricing mechanism to promote sustainability-linked loans and green lending. Yuanta Bank also takes the principle of fair customer treatment as the core, implements staff care and fraud prevention at the counter, and builds the “Skynet AI Fraud Detection Model” to reduce people’s financial losses. In 2024, Yuanta Bank prevented a total of NT$490 million in fraud. Moreover, in response to green finance, Yuanta Bank is the first bank to open the “Diamond-Gold Carbon Lucky Account” and the first to start the “Campus Diamond-Gold Ambassador Program” to spread knowledge and awareness of sustainable development. In addition, Yuanta Bank popularizes electronic payment tools such as “Taiwan Pay” and “one-stop online application service” to raise public awareness of carbon reduction. As a leader in the public fund asset management industry, Yuanta Funds provides paperless services such as “Mr. Yuanta Funds,” LINE official account personalization service, and open online application for ETF digital billing. Yuanta likewise cooperates with electronics companies across multiple sectors to carry out a small-value investment program, and advances Taiwan’s first ETF fee rate optimization and segmentation operation, in order to realize the goals of sustainable carbon reduction and financial inclusion. In 2022, Yuanta Funds even led the industry in initiating tripartite engagement among investors, investees and index compilers, and has been striding towards internationalization.
